Ayman Albaja

Founder/Owner

Founder and Principal of AY Builders, bringing over 40 years of experience in the plumbing and construction industry. With decades of hands-on expertise, Ayman has successfully led a wide range of residential, commercial, and public works projects, earning a reputation for quality workmanship, reliability, and integrity.

Ayman is highly experienced in prevailing wage and city-funded projects, with a strong understanding of public-sector requirements, compliance standards, and inspection processes. His extensive background allows him to oversee every phase of a project from planning, permitting, and system design to installation and final inspection while ensuring strict adherence to all applicable codes and regulations.

He holds certifications in OSHA safety, CPR/First Aid, Trench Safety, and OWTS (Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems), enabling him to manage complex projects with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and long-term system performance. Under his leadership, AY Builders, continues to grow through long-term client relationships, referrals, and a consistent commitment to excellence. Ayman takes pride in delivering dependable solutions while maintaining transparency, accountability, and trust with every client.

Tiago Alkana

Partner/CEO

Tiago began his career in the construction industry in 2008, building a strong technical foundation in the plumbing trade. By 2010, his company was working alongside Ayman Albaja on public works projects in partnership with local municipalities, contributing to infrastructure and large-scale developments.

In 2012, Tiago expanded into the residential construction sector, collaborating closely with general contractors on custom homes before progressing into commercial construction and multi-unit projects. Over the years, he developed a deep passion for building—particularly custom residences and apartment developments—where craftsmanship, coordination, and vision come together.

What began as a childhood love for building and problem-solving has evolved into a career defined by hands-on experience, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality. Today, Tiago brings that same curiosity and precision to every project, helping deliver thoughtfully built spaces that stand the test of time.

Nicholas Reyes

Director of Operations and Marketing

Nicholas brings a deep, ground-up understanding of the construction process, having been involved in hundreds of projects from preconstruction through completion. He began his career in the field at a young age, gaining firsthand experience on job sites before growing into a leadership role that bridged operations, communication, and client coordination.

Throughout his career, Nicholas has played an integral role in ensuring projects are executed smoothly while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and accountability. Often serving as the face of the company, he has worked closely with homeowners, developers, and project stakeholders to guide them through the construction process—ensuring clarity, trust, and a consistently positive experience from start to finish.

Nicholas is deeply focused on the details that define successful projects: clear expectations, proactive problem-solving, and strong collaboration between clients, trades, and internal teams. His involvement helps ensure that every project reflects AY Builders’ core values of quality, integrity, and craftsmanship.

Irene perdomo

Executive Assistant/Office Manager

Irene serves as the Executive Assistant and Office Manager for AY Builders, playing a vital role in keeping the company organized, efficient, and client-focused. With a strong background in administrative leadership and project coordination, Irene supports day-to-day operations across the business—from executive-level support and client communication to scheduling, documentation, and office management.

She manages internal workflows, coordinates meetings, oversees office logistics, and ensures that every project runs smoothly behind the scenes. Irene is the primary point of contact for clients and partners, handling inquiries with professionalism and ensuring timely follow-through. Her attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proactive approach help AY Builders maintain high standards of service and keep projects moving forward with clarity and consistency.
